Vahe Lorents's book's presentation titled “Garni”


    On March 23, it took place historian, writer, public speaker Vahe Lorents's book's presentation titled “Garni”.The book is about the temple of Garni, which is intended for tour guides and tourists. Literary critics, students, public and cultural figures, many readers were among the guests. The author presented certificates to the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan for productive cooperation, " Magaghat" printing house, Lusine Ghazaryan and Parandzem Sargsyan for translation. The author presented the history of the temple of Garni. The fortress and temple of Garni are situated in Kotayk region in the gorge of the Azat river on a triangular and high cape.The exact date of the foundation of the castle is not known.Excavations have uncovered an early Bronze Age settlrmrnt with dwellings and many artifacts.During the Urartian period, Garni was one of the most important military strongholds of the state. During the excavations in Garni, early findings of the Bronze Age period have been discovered. According to the 14th centuary manuscript, the temple of Garni was founded in 2166 BC. The fortress was first mentioned by the Roman historian Takitos.The settlement was founded by Hayk Nahapet's grandson Gegham. In honor of his grandson, he named the temple "Garni". Singer and songwriter Arsen Hambaryan welcomed the audience with musical performances.
