Presentation of the book “Formula of Life” by Gohar Martikyan


    On January 23 the air in the big hall of City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan was filled with pride and sadness. Journalist, public speaker Gohar Martikyan was presenting the 10th volume of her historical-documentary book “Formula of Life”. The book is devoted to the heroes of Four-Day War as well as to those from Sisian, who had fallen during the war in Arthsagh. The parents, relatives, friends of these heroes as well as a number of readers and guests were among the audience members. The host of the presentation was the president of “Women’s Republican Association” NGO Aida Topuzian, who mentioned: “The enemy had to face the generation born in free Armenia. A generation that has been brought up by the spirit of Archakh Liberating War. The generation that stopped the enemy by the coast of his life.”
One of the guests of the event was journalist, general director of Armenian Public Radio Arman Saghatelyan who said in his speech: “In Soviet Union there was an expression “The country should know its heroes. ” I think this is more than true for today. Because ever victory, every achievement is the embodiment of individual human stories.” The executive director of Youth Foundation of Armenia stated that it is impossible to talk about this book without getting emotional. “You can feel the love, pride and delight with every sentence of the book.”
Other speeches were made by PhD of Philological Sciences, the director of “The Museum of the History of Musaler Battle and Ethnography of Musaler People” David Mker Sargsyan, the coordinator of the grants by the Office of the President of the RA Gayane Manukian, Adviser to the Constitutional Court President Hovhannes Papikyan, a representative of special operation forces Grisha Vardumyan, journalist David Sargsyan, Board member of “Women's Republican Council” Yeranuhi Karapetyan, the director of City Central Library, Honorary Worker of Culture Hasmik Karapetyan.
Young kanon player Kritine Yengoyan performed the song “Eshkhemed” by Sayat-Nova. Actress Gayane Samvelyan read the first chapter of the book and a poem written in memory of Ashot Chakhoyan. A minute of silence was announced to honor the memory of fallen soldiers. The final speech of the event was made by the author herself, who stated: “We should remember [our heroes] if we don’t want to betray ourselves.”
