Exhibition of Suren Hayrapetyan’s Works


    On September 19 in the City Central Library after A. Isahakyan was the photo exhibition of naturalist, translator, writer and journalist Suren Hayrapetyan’s works and the presentation of his book “On Familiar and Unfamiliar Roads” dedicated to his 70th birthday and 50th anniversary of his working career. The book is intended for readers of all ages. Stories and short stories found in the book are presented with in-depth knowledge of nature which are uniquely revived with the author’s exclusive photos of nature. The collection is completed with famous people’s opinions about the author. The author of the preface and the editor of the book is the writer, editor, painter and Honored Journalist of RA Vanik Santryan. The host of the event, actress Gayane Samvelyan came up with a greeting speech and quoted Vanik Santroyan: “While reading his works, real, non-imaginary sparrow, stork, beetle and butterfly appear in front of your eyes, every tongueless creature whom the author has met, in a way talked to, whose life he has wonderfully presented due to his talent and capacities which make possible the naturalist’s approximation with seemingly known but at the same time little-known and little-studied creatures. Director of the Research Center for Zoology and Hydro-Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences Bardugh Gabrielyan, congratulating the jubilee, informed that in the center of Zoological Museum it is intended to allocate some space to display Suren Hayrapetyan’s works. The jubilee was congratulated and praised for his invaluable work by candidate of Biological Sciences Aram Aghasyan, poet, painter, translator and the president of “Armenian fund of Culture” Arevshat Avagyan, candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of RA, vice-president of Patriotic Union of Tavush Lavrent Mirzoyan, leading specialist of the Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of RA Margarita Gharibyan, environmentalist, state and public figure of RA, president of “For Sustainable Human Development” NGO Karine Danielyan, poet, novelist Liparit Sargsyan, chief editor of “Kanch” newspaper Varujan Mnatsakanyan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Tadevosyan, biologist Karen Manvelyan, poetess Ida Kiraksyan, Gurgen Loretsi, journalist, Honored Doctor of the international academy of “Nature and Society”, actual member of European Academy Serge Manukyan, literary critic Roma Harutyunyan, essayist, literary critic, Doctor of Philological Sciences Professor Lyudvig Karapetyan and the director of the City Central Library after A. Isahakyan, Honored worker of the Culture of RA Hasmik Karapetyan. Summing up the event the jubilee expressed his gratitude and noted: “If nature has created a living creature, means that he has his place in nature and should not be destroyed, whether it is a leaf or an ant”. The ceremony was accompanied by a video screening which included the author’s photos.
