On August 12, 2016 the Yerevan City Central Library in association with Armenian Found of Culture hosted the presentation of the book Chalter- the Capital of Armenians from Don by doctor Sargis Shirinian. Mr. Shirinian is a descendent of one of those historical families which were displaced from their hometown-Ani. He is one of those people who writes in order to remind the generations about their national identity. His short stories, written in Chalter dialect are filled with humor and have rather big ethnographical and cultural value. The book contains author’s biography as well and it is dedicated to his compatriots, family and friends. “These short stories testify that although Armenians were displaced and they had to interact and communicate with other nations, they managed to keep their language and everything connected with Armenian culture and lifestyle. All of these is presented in the book”,- mentioned writer, artist, translator and the president of Armenian Found of Culture Arevshat Avagian.
At the presentation musical numbers were presented by singer, songwriter Arsen Hambarian and piano player Anna Manoukian, who performed the song “Memories” by songwriter Artoush Parsadanian.
The author was greeted and congratulated by writer, public speaker, social figure, doctor Toros Toranian, doctor Madlena Hovhannisian, expert in “Narek” Ashot Petrosian and others.
In the end of the presentation the author donated his books to the guests and to the library.
