Presenting the Heritage of Yeghiazar Muratian


    On June 8, 2016 the Yerevan City Central Library held the presentation of the three-volume collection "Compositions" by teacher, writer, historian, philologist, translator Yeghiazar Muratian. The volumes were compile, edit, annotate by literary critic, PhD of Philological Sciences Artur Andranikyan. The first two volumes contain the poems, public speeches, rhetoric and analytic speeches. One of his extensive critical-analytical works, "Critical History of Arshak the Second and His Son Pap". The opening speech was made by the Director of the Library, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Karapetyan, who invited Mr. Andranikyan to take his duty of the host. He started his speech by thanking Mrs. Karapetian for encouraging him to take on the serious task of collecting his literary heritage. Mr. Andranikyan draw the attention of the audience to the fact that Yeghiazar Muratian was acting in an era, when there was the serious problem of keeping the Armenian Language and Culture. He added that Yeghiazarian's writings are as much of value now as there were in the past. The speechmakers of the event were writer, publicist, public figure, doctor Toros Toranian; The Head of the department of Armenian Philology of the Yerevan State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovian, literary critic, PhD of Philological Sciences Aelita Dolukhanyan; literary critic, PhD of Philological Sciences Samvel Mureadian, historian Gevorg Yazchian, Veteran of ASALA, commander of Van operation Vazgen Sislyan. The audience listened to some of Artur Andranikian's poems recited by recitor Aida Asaturian.
