Children’s Right Day


    The morning of first of July was filled with children’s songs, cartoons, chalk drawing, lots of fun, smiles and happiness. The Yerevan City Central Library, in association with Nunios Swedish-Armenian charitable foundation organized a cultural program for the young visitors of the library and children from disadvantaged families, which included chalk art competition, a guided tour in the library, playing Armenian national games, fairytale reading, cartoon screening. Before starting competition the director of Nunios foundation Noushik Melkonian greeted the children and congratulated them on their personal holyday. Later the coordinator of PR and Event Organizing department Marine’ Khazarian read the address of the Mayor of Yerevan City to his young civilians. The competitors were to draw the nature. Their works were judged by painter, sculptor Albert Papikyan. The awards were presented in the nominations “Best Choice of Colors”, “Best Composition”, “Best Sketch”, “Best Drawing”. Later the children watch the animated movie “Anahit”. Meanwhile the Children’s Literature department was full of guests from kinder garden № 88. The coordinator of the department offered them to watch the animated movie “Rug of the Dragon”. Later the children played 2 Armenian national games: “Lame Stork” and “Mouse and Cat”. The visitors had a surprise for the library. They sang the songs “Good Morning” and “The Happy Train” and prese3nted souvenirs. But this wasn’t still the end of the day for them. The coordinator of American Corner introduced them 3D printer and 3D pen. The worker process of equipments was something totally new for kids, so they were fascinated by it. After receiving their presents made by 3D printer, the children said goodbye to the library, hoping to return again.
