April 7th- Mothers Day


    On April 7, 2016 the Yerevan City Central Library in association with the Armenian Cultural Fond, organized an event to celebrate the Mothers Day. The host of the event was writer, artist, translator, member of Artists Unite and Journalists Union of RA Arevshat Avagyan. The latter mentioned that because of the tense situation on the board line of Nagorno-Karabakh, they considered postponing the event but in the last minute they decided to keep it to show that nothing can break Armenian spirit. After a minute of silence dedicated to Armenian soldiers who died in the frontier, a patriotic song was performed by Ani and Tigranuhi Margaryans. Touching speeches were made and poems were recited by lieutenant colonel Nona Poghosyan, reciter Anna Kostanyan, writer Anahit Danielyan, Karine Sargsyan, writer Gyulnara Ivanyan, literary critic, pedagogue Roma Dalaqyan, writer Ida Kirakosyan, writer Serkhach, writer Samvel Khachikyan, writer Mihran Khachikyan, writer Larisa Haroutunian and writer Razmik Galstian. Musical numbers were performed by singer, writer Alexander Eknosian (Eknos), Karine Sargsyan, singer Armine Yeghazarian, songwriter Alexander Parsadanyan, singer, songwriter Arsen Hambaryan, singer Norayr Kiureghyan. On this very same day the exhibition of Sergey Poghosyan’s portraits and movie director Edward Ter-Sahakian’s collages took place as well.
