“The Unbelievable Journey of Hayk to the Country of His Ancestors”

On April 4, 2016 the Yerevan City Central Library held the presentation of the book “The Unbelievable Journey of Hayk to the Country of His Ancestors” by artist-ceramist Vardan Ayvazyan. Due to the health state of the author, he was unable to be present. He had sent a video message telling about the story of writing the book. Some extracts from the book were presented by actress, reciter Gayane’ Samvelyan. It is a story about a young boy, who travels to the country of his ancestors, to Van-Vaspurakan, and learns a lot not only about his country’s history, geography and landscape but also gets the wise message left of ancient Armenian manuscripts; “Love, Cherish and Protect Your Motherland”. The book has strong educational value and is meant for high grades. The book contains a speech from Candidate of Philological Sciences Alvard Ghaziyan. “Vardan Ayvazyan has filed the tales of Vaspurakan and has written a work that can be described as a saga. Students could get serious knowledge in ethnography as it contains historical and geographical information. The characters are familiar to the reader as they are their predecessors”. Speeches were made by author’s friend, writer Liparit Sargsyan; author’s daughter-in-low Anna Alaverdyan; illustrator of the book Srbuhy Aivazyan and others.
