Meeting with contemporary French writer Serge Venturini


    On April 29, 2015 in the framework of the program “Literary Arc” YCCL hosted a meeting with contemporary French writer Serge Venturini. The writer was introduced to the audience by writer, movie critic, screenwriter, Honorary Worker of Art of Armenia, the head of the Yerevan State University of Theatre and Cinematography David Mouradian. He mentioned that the writer lived and worked in Yerevan in 1990s, knows our country, our art and literature very well, loves and appreciates it very much. Another speech was made by writer, poetess Armeniuhi Sisian. The meeting was made memorable by Serge Venturini himself. He read some of his translations of Sayat-Nova's works as well as some translated extracts from Yeghishe Charents' "Dantesque legend" poem. The audience had a chance to listen to Serge Venturini’s own poems: “Je suis le Feu”, “Nauge Rouge”, “D’e՛clairs en e՛clairs”, “La pomme Armenie”, “Les mains de l’etre”, “Il est des terres d’orient” and others. The Armenia versions of the poems were recited by reciter Sergoosh Babayan and actress Gayane Samvelyan. The poems were translated into Armenian by Mr. Venturini's wife Elizabeth Mouradian. In the end the writer thanked his guests and organizers of the event and promised to visit Armenian again in near future in company of his wife.
