The Presentation Of The “And The Sun Sets In Sunrise…”


    It has been 100 years since the Ottoman Turkey conducted genocide against Armenia. Today people who had gone through that horror have found their peace in the heaven. But the horrendous stories of their lives were passed from generation to generation and today these stories, like incurable wounds, are causing pain to us- the descendents of those people. But their souls will not rest in peace until Turkey and the world recognize Armenian genocide. On February 20, 2015, in the framework of the program “Ahead To the 100th Anniversary Of Armenian Genocide”, the presentation of the book “And The Sun Sets In Sunrise…” by Eduard Khachikyan took place in the YCCL. The book is devoted to the heroes of the battle in Shapin – Garahisar. The event was attended by the Head of Armenian Language History Chair, Doctor, Professor of Philological Sciences Ruben Saqapetoyan, the Armenian Writers' Union President, writer Edward Militonyan, pedagogue, Honorary Citizen of Armavir Suren Sargsyan, writer Rafael Sahakian, writer, literary critic, Doctor, Professor of Philological Sciences Artem Harutyunyan, Presidium member of Armenian Republic supreme Council, Defense and Internal Affairs Committee Chairman, Deputy Head Of The Ministry Of Defense Supervising Board, Reserve Army Colonel Gevorg Baghdasaryan, writer Alis Hovhannisyan and others. The Armenian Republic Honorary Worker of Art, the Director of Yerevan City Central Library Hasmik Karapetyan mentioned the importance of translating the books devoted to the genocide and introducing the world with the dark corners of Turkish history. The last speech of the event was made by the writer of the book himself, who talked about his future projects and thanked everyone who had helped him with the release of this book.
