Presentation of Karo Vardanyan ‘s book “Explosions in Turkey… and not only”


    On June 28, 2017 the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan hosted a presentation of the book “Explosions in Turkey… and not only” by writer, director of Charents Museum of Literature and Arts, Honorary Worker of Art Karo Vardanyan. The book was published by Spurk weekly, Lebanon. On the same day an exhibition of ASALA martyrs’ photos was opened, which will last until July 6th . The book follows an undiscovered member of ASALA, who uncovers stories and people unknown to the general public. The mysterious hero himself is an originator of more than 100 explosions against Turkey and pro-Turkish interests. These facts combined with the results of the studies by the author himself, provide an overview of the organization’s background, its objectives, results of militant activities and internal issues of the organization.
The opening speech of the event was made by the deputy director of the library Ruzanna Barseghyan. Garnik Esphany, a representative of Spurk weekly from Lebanon, Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos), Major-General, military leader of the Armenian forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh War, writer Ruben Simonyan spoke highly of the author and the value of the book. Taking into account the high demand of the book the representatives of Spurk weekly promised to republish it.
Ashugh Razmar and singer, songwriter Arsen Hambaryan performed national, patriotic songs. Karo Vardanyan made the closing speech of the event and spoke about the creative process of writing the book. On behalf of Charents Museum of Literature and Arts, he presented the library with portrait of Avetik Isahakyan (author Ara Hovsepyan). But the author had one more surprise for the audience: an audiotape of the hero of his book, sent by Spurk weekly.
